THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE IS: ANIMALS

This Week our Very Special Guest Designer is:

Hi, my name is Joann Burton aka Sassy Raggedy.  I have been crafting ever since I was a young girl.  For 13 years while living in Denver, CO I was so lucky to have owned my ownBoutique called "Ragg-A-Muffins" where I did decorative painting on furniture, antiques and anything I could get my hands on.  I also handmade Raggedy Ann's and Andy's and almostany type animal or doll I could think of.  At my Boutique, we made our own soaps, stationary, patterns, and you name it.  If we could think of it we made it...
I have been married to my hubby for 33 years and have 2 wonderful sons.  My hubby retired from the Air Force Academy and served in Desert Storm. My oldest son served in the Army in Iraq and my youngest is currently a Marine for another month, having served in Afghanistan.
I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer for Eureka Stamps as I love these images so much.

Package Tower

Merry Christmas?!?!?!
Yes!
It's Kristie and I'm at it again, making Christmas cards.
Today's card is made with
"Package Tower" (#23301) from Eureka! Stamps
I colored this image with FlexMarkers.
I also used a bit of Stickles and Glossy Accents to give some shine, shimmer and sparkle.
The bow is made with some wonderful satin ribbon from May Arts.
I think it adds just the right touch and "wraps up" this card perfectly.

Eureka DT Post from Gemma Pocock

Hi again, well this time it is a DT post for Eureka.
I used the image of the cat in sunglasses http://www.eurekastamps.com/proddetail.php?prod=digi23902, coloured in my pro markers, then added a black diamond shape onto the card base, then added some fish bones and kitty paper, added a die cut shape and the cat on the top and to finish off I used card candi. The inside reads
"Hope you have a cool day".

I would love you to go and visit my blog and take a look at the other handmade things I have made http://gemshandmadecards.blogspot.co.uk/.

A Christmas Tag

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Cheryl here to share a Christmas tag with you today.

Isn't this carousel horse just delightful?  The digital stamp I used can be found right here.  This carousel horse stamp can be found in the "animals" category.

I left the horse's body white and used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color in the rest of the image.  I added lots of glitter glue to the holly, berries, the saddle and the carousel pole.  I attached the stamp to some candy cane striped patterned paper and added a big green bow.  I still needed something, so I added the rows of red and white rhinestones.

Here's a close up photograph of my tag:

One thing that I always do before I add the large bow is tie some kind of string or narrow ribbon through the hole in the top of the tag.  I used baker's twine on this tag.  That makes it easy to attach my tag to a gift.  Here's a picture of the twine:

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Funky Birthday card

This is a totally unplanned card. The odd squiggly-lined panel started out as just a place to clean off my brushes as I pained another card with opalite inks. But as I started "stroking off" the paint of a third color, I decided it looked kind of fun, and proceeded to cover the whole scrap. So, of course, I had to make a card. :-)

The Baroque background is black embossed on black; the baroque corner and Happy Birthday text are also embossed in black.

Make New Friends

"Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other's gold"
Do you remember that song?
I remember singing it in rounds when I was a girl scout.
That's what this image,
"Lg Best Friends Sitting (#5906) from Eureka! Stamps,
reminds me of.
The kids in my area just went back to school about a week ago
and this makes me think of when I was young
and when my kids were young.
Each year we'd wonder about our old friends,
what they did over the summer,
if they were going to be in our classes etc.
As well as if we'd be meeting new friends,
who they would be,
were they new kids to the school
or just to the class?
Some wonderful memories!
So enough reminiscing, about the card.....
I used Distrress inks to make the background of sky and grass.
Then I stamped the image onto that background and also onto a piece of white card stock.
I used a bronze Creative Memories pen to color the bench
and colored the 'friends' with FlexMarkers, then fussy cut them.
I adhered the 'friends' right over the stamped image on the background.
I used a Martha Stewart all around the page punch set for the border.

Thanks for stopping by today, leave a comment if you will and be sure to come and visit again soon, our design team have been creating up a storm and have lots to show you.

I'd love to have you stop by my blog
and see what other projects I have to show you.
Happy Stamping!

My bedroom comforter

I was looking at my comforter just before going to bed one evening, and thought, "What a pretty card background this would make!"   Of course, then I couldn't sleep for awhile thinking about which stamps I would use!  I wonder if any other cardmakers have that problem?  I knew that I would definitely want to use Eureka's Baroque Background stamp, so I started with that in the morning.  I ended up also using the peacock feather and in samples below,  the Mosaic background stamp.  The background was created using faux batik technique, and sponging brilliance ink dew drop-shaped pads directly onto the cardstock.

This is the comforter:

Here are a few of the other backgrounds I made trying to catch the look.  I couldn't get a decent photo of two of them, so included one of all four together.

I stopped before adding black to this one because I liked how it looked at this point:
