Christmas peace

This is Sarosa posting today, and this is a post that almost didn't happen. I take my design team commitment seriously, and so made most of my cards this summer, just in case I had a rough semester of college. Well, it was crazy! I made all of three cards during that time, and this one I assumed would be easy enough to get to because college would be done forever. Well, so much for that idea! This is a card I had made a portion of earlier, which is the only reason I could finish it, lol! The dark green background is a shimmery pattern that is very similar to the design of the holly border and square. The text is from sister company Biblical Impressions.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE IS:
 Christmas Spirit

Our Guest Designer this week is CG!!!
CG will be joining us for the month of December
and showcasing her wonderful card.  Here is a little more about CG.
I'm a crafter living in Baltimore, Maryland with my husband of nine years, a green Iguana named Percy, two unusually-large mini Schnauzers named Walt and Allen, (Allen's with me in the photo).  I have a background in poetry, website maintenance, and publication design, but these days I mostly make cards!  I'm currently visiting my parents in Arizona and I am spending lots of time crafting with my Mom, who got me into cardmaking.

I'm very lucky to have found the online creative community and I just love visiting blogs by crafters around the world.  I've recently gotten into cross-stitch and enjoy how relaxing that is.  Many thanks to Eureka Stamps for asking  me to join them this month as their Guest Designer!

And here is CG's Wonderful Card: Using digi34601 Holly Doggies

Happy New Year Card

Hello crafters!

I created a New Year's card for you today, using a sentiment as the focal point.  You can find this sentiment in the Eureka store right here.

Isn't this large sentiment wonderful and just perfect for a New Year's card?  I used Echo Park Very Merry Christmas papers and added some Christmas green flowers to my card.  I jazzed the flowers up a little with a rhinestone in the center of each one.  The flower in the upper right hand corner is attached with a pop dot.  Here's a close-up photograph of the lovely sentiment.

Just for some added interest, I staggered the rows of flowers (at the bottom) and used pop dots on some of them.

I love using sentiments as the focal point and there are many of them, for any occasion, in the Eureka store.

Thanks for stopping by today!

You light up my life

Hi all!
Kristie from Kristie Kreates, here today.
Christmas is so close and I'm still not done with my cards.
Almost, but not quite.
Here is another one that I made the other evening.
I used "Skunk and Lights" (#10901) and
"You Light" (#10903)
With these images all that needs coloring is the string of lights.
I used FlexMarkers.
Easy peasy.
Thanks for stopping by today.
If you haven't finished your cards yet and don't have the image you want, pop into the Eureka! Stamps Store and pick out something.
I used rubber stamps for my images, but they are also available in digital format. Digital makes it easy to resize and print as many as you need quickly.
Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Three Kings

This is Sarosa posting today. I hope everyone is enjoying the season, and not getting stressed out with everything on their schedules!  I had a different card in mind, and planned to post this one (which I made this summer) for the next challenge, however, I saw that Cheryl had used the same image in a wonderful way earlier HERE, and I though my posting this now might be extra inspiration for this image!

The obvious thing to do with this image is to color it, and I really wanted to ... still want to! But, I didn't! I decided to find a different way to show case the Three Kings. I wish I had a camera that could pick up the beautiful velvety cardstock I used for the background on the top card and everything on the bottom; the elegance it added is perfect. I also don't know if you can really see that the top card is somewhat 3D; each king is a separate, solid layer of cardstock. The star comes from the Bethelehem with verse image. I stamped it on light gold cardstock and embossed.
