Gemma Pocock DT Post

Morning again everyone, well I have been up to my eyes in christmas cards so thought I would have a little break and went for a birthday card for a little boy. I used the image of the caterpillar https://www.facebook.com/facebook#!/pages/Gems-Handmade-Cards/163273910356037, coloured with pro markers, added some matt and layered card, then added a sentiment and some card candi.

If you like my card take a look at my blog http://gemshandmadecards.blogspot.co.uk/ and I also have a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/facebook#!/pages/Gems-Handmade-Cards/163273910356037

Snowman gift tag

Hello blog fans!
Kristie here today!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn't eat too much.
Now that Thanksgiving is passed it's really time to gear up for Christmas.
I decided to make a couple gift tags to show you.
I used
"Snowman To and From" (#23705)
This first one was stamped onto white card stock
and colored with FlexMarkers.
The sky is inked with a blending tool
and Distress Ink (Broken China)
This one was stamped onto a white tag
and colored with FlexMarkers.
They didn't take much time to make at all
and I think these little guys are adorable.

Why not pop over to the
and see what images you might want
to use to make some gift tags?
I used a rubber stamp,
but they are also available in digital format.
Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you've been inspired in some way, come again soon!
I'd love to have you stop by my blog,
and see what else I've been up to.
Stop by and see me soon.

Good news of Great Joy!

Sarosa posting today.  I love, love, love Christmas Season! I love the celebration of Jesus' birth, and I have the most wonderful memories of Christmas from childhood. Our house looked, smelled, tasted, and sounded like Christmas!

Anyway, this is a single image, Bethlehem With Verse. I embossed the image with silver. Then I traced over the star with a versamark pen, and re-embossed it with gold.

Note: I was using a rather dry versamark pad, so I did not get great coverage on the bottoms of these cards (I think I was a bit hurried, and didn't press firmly enough). For this top one, I just added more ink and more embossing powder.    Funny, my heat gun kept putting air bubbles, dozens and dozens. I finally figured out how to position the cardstock best, but you can see I still had a couple!  I also filled in the spots where the script is not right, but unfortunately, spilled something on the card and ruined it. :-( So, no corrected picture, sorry about that!

I hesitated over posting this second card, because it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked it to. However, I really liked the concept: I embossed the image with sticky embossing powder, then brushed different colors of mica powder over the scene. As you see, the blue did on the bottom looks a bit odd. It's very important not to heat sticky emboss powder too long, or it will not look smooth and shiny, but very dull. As I said above, I also did not check that I had thoroughly coated the stamped image. Still, I hope you are inspired!

Merry Christmas Tag

Hello!  Cheryl here to share a Christmas tag with you.  I've been busy making gift tags this year and these adorable Eureka stamps were just perfect for one of them!  Let me show you my tag and then I'll give you the details.

This tag is a smaller size (2 1/2" x 5") so that I can attach it to any size gift.  I made it out of heavy kraft cardstock and then covered it with Echo Park patterned paper.  I punched a hole through both layers and added a piece of baker's twine before I started.

This is a digital image and can be found in the Eureka Stamps store under digi-Christmas.  The image is called Mistletoe Couple and can be found here.  The sentiment can be found here.

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers and made the "mistletoe" a ball of green and red glitter glue.  After the glitter glue dried, I fussy cut the image, inked the edges with green ink, then attached it to the tag with pop dots.  I also fussy cut, and inked, the sentiment and attached it with pop dots.  I tied a "double bow" and and glued it to the top of the tag.

Here's one more photograph of my tag:

As always, this image was such a joy to color and I just love the way it looks on my tag!  I'm all set to tie this tag onto a special Christmas gift.
