Gemma Pocock DT post

Good morning everyone hope you are all well and crafty?
Well here is another little card from me using the Giraffe Digi. I decided to use slightly different colours than your normal giraffe, so went with red for the heart shapes on him and yellow and brown. I think it works quite well and really like the end product.
The giraffe http://www.eurekastamps.com/proddetail.php?prod=digi12801, I coloured using my pro markers, then added some red card along the middle of the card, found some floral and swirl card in natural colours, added these on top of the red, added the giraffe and the sentiment Friends Forever, then to finish off I used some yellow pearls. All attached to the card base which is from Hunkeydory.
I really like this digi and it can be used for most occasions.

Take a look at my blog for other cards and handmade items I have made http://gemshandmadecards.blogspot.co.uk/ and if you are facebook it would be great for you to join my page

I'm Thinking of You

I hope you're having a good Thursday.  Cheryl here and I'm going to share a "thinking of you" card with you today.  I used the adorable digital stamp, Time for Tea, and it can be found in the Eureka digital store here.

This adorable stamp can be found in the digital stamp section, under "Friends".   I just love the font on this sentiment!  You can find the sentiment here.  There's a whole section of "Greetings" where you'll be able to find the perfect sentiment.

I colored my image with my Spectrum Noir markers and cut it to the size I wanted.  I inked the image all the way around, with distress ink, and did the same thing with the sentiment.  The sentiment is attached with pop dots.  Here's a close-up of my card.

I used two different patterned papers and several layers and topped my card off with a matching green bow. Here's one more close-up photograph.

I love using pop dots.  I think they add so much dimension to any project.

I hope you like the "I'm Thinking of You" card that I've created for you.  Until next time, "Happy Scrapping".

School binders

With the Back to School challenge posted Monday for Eureka, decorating binders seemed like an appropriate idea to work with.  Most department stores carry binders with clear plastic fronts with an opening at the top.  With standard size carstock or scrapbook paper, one has the option of simple paper, an ornate, all-out design (just be careful it isn't too thick!), or like me, a simple design to do the job.  Because of the plastic, I couldn't seem to get away from the glare, so please excuse the poor quality.

If you have multiple notebooks or children to design for, you can keep it really simple with patterned paper as I did here, and a simple scripture (Philippians 4:13 seemed like an appropriate one for a student).  I don't have any children going off to school (well, one to college but she doesn't use binders), but I put these on my stamp storage albums.

For the second album, I used cut-outs of Eureka's peacock feather that I had made years ago for a journal.  I used Opalite Inks on a sparkle blue cardstock.  I could have simply used white cardstock and added my colors (example here), but I really wanted copper and only had it in the Opalites, so I went with a sparkle blue cardstock.  Opalite inks never photograph really well, and in the wrong light can look rather dull.  But, they are fun to play with!

This is a second picture of the peacock album, that I am showing because I like to show problems/errors that teach me.  I had rejected a few of these feathers because I had not realized that Opalite inks (interference inks working only on very dark colors) will lose their color and look white if applied to heavily.  So if you look closely at the feather on the lower right, you'll see it looks very white in the middle.  So, be careful when using these inks!

Mini Teacher Reward Cards ....

Hello, Katie here today with my latest creation for Eureka Stamps is this set of Reward Cards for teachers to give out in class.  Eureka Stamps have lots of these lovely images to encourage children in their learning.

Recipe & Method:

1. Cut and score a 4" x 4" card.

2.  Mat and layer Yellow card stock.

3.  Add the spotted paper.

4.  Wrap the ribbon around the centre of the card.

5. Colour and cut the image and mat and layer onto Spotty paper and then Yellow card.

6.  Add to card and embellish with die cut stars.

I have coloured the image using Promarkers: Canary, Yellow, Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 3, Warm Grey 2, Warm Grey 3, Azure, Pear Green, Pumpkin, Violet, Ivory, Poppy, Sandstone.
