I'm Thinking of You

I hope you're having a good Thursday.  Cheryl here and I'm going to share a "thinking of you" card with you today.  I used the adorable digital stamp, Time for Tea, and it can be found in the Eureka digital store here.

This adorable stamp can be found in the digital stamp section, under "Friends".   I just love the font on this sentiment!  You can find the sentiment here.  There's a whole section of "Greetings" where you'll be able to find the perfect sentiment.

I colored my image with my Spectrum Noir markers and cut it to the size I wanted.  I inked the image all the way around, with distress ink, and did the same thing with the sentiment.  The sentiment is attached with pop dots.  Here's a close-up of my card.

I used two different patterned papers and several layers and topped my card off with a matching green bow. Here's one more close-up photograph.

I love using pop dots.  I think they add so much dimension to any project.

I hope you like the "I'm Thinking of You" card that I've created for you.  Until next time, "Happy Scrapping".

The Selflessness Project

Last week I came across this story
and decided to make a card to send out to Matthew for his project.
Here is the card I made at My Happy Place.
I used some distress inks for the background and FlexMarkers to color the
"Flying Girl Holder" (#21701)
"Oval Balloon" (#5201)
and "Heart Balloon" (#5204)
which are all images from Eureka! Stamps
The grass is stamped with
"Field Grass Right" (#38925)
The girl and balloons were fussy cut and adhered to the card with foam tape.
I hope you'll read the story about this little boy and maybe make a card or two to send off to him for his project.
On their facebook page his Mom says they have already surpassed his goal and it is bigger than they ever imagined and I'm sure it's going to keep on growing!
and see what you would like to use to make some cards.

Thanks for stopping by today, leave a comment if you will and

Skating Santa

Hello everybody!  Can you believe it's the last day of July?  Time flies by so fast, so I've actually made a few Christmas cards already.  When I was choosing which stamp I wanted to use today, I just fell in love with this whimsical, Santa on Skates.  I already had in mind which patterned papers I wanted to use and visualized Santa colored pink and green.  Let me show you my finished card and then I'll give you some more details.

I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color in Santa's face, suit and leggings.  I covered his beard, hair and all of the fur with white glitter glue and sprinkled it with ultra fine glitter, then added gold glitter glue to his belt buckle.  I cut out the image and chalked the edges with pink, then matted it with some green patterned paper and distressed the edges.   The big bow is pinkish-white and I thought it was the perfect finishing touch.  Here is a close-up of my card:

Here's one more:

The two sentiments can be found here and here.  I also used chalk on them ~ one with pink and the other with green and attached them on angles with pop dots.  I thought this went along with the whimsical look of Santa on Skates.  I often mix it up too and add some really pretty thing (like this glittery bow) to a whimsical card.  It's just something that I like to do.

How about you?  Have you made any Christmas cards yet?  I really had fun with this one.  Thanks for stopping by!

Upcycled card

Hello blogger friends!
Kristie sharing today.
Today I have a card to show you that was very simple to make.
I used "Just a Note" (#6405)
from Eureka! Stamps for this card.
I was playing around with papers trying to match up some colors and patterns, which I sometimes have a tough time doing.
My friend, Marie, had just opened a package of paper that she bought and gave me the "cover sheet"
You know the one, it shows little swatches of the papers inside.
Now I didn't have to hem and haw over what would match,
the work was done for me and I was upcycling too.
I punched squares out of the different patterns with a punch,
arranged and adhered them to a piece of paper from my stash.
I then ran it through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder.
I love how it looks with the embossed flowers on the patterned paper!
This I adhered to a white cardstock base.
I used the "Just a Note" stamp on another scrap and trimmed it down.
Blue and pink embroidery floss were wrapped around it and tied into a bow then it was adhered to the card.
What an easy note card! And I think it's quite lovely.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you've gotten some inspiration.
Leave a comment if you will and come again soon.

I'd love to have you stop by my blog
and see what else I've been working on lately.
